In case you missed it, on May 5, 2017 SB 442: Advanced Well Stimulation Treatment died in the Appropriations Subcommittee on the Environment and Natural Resources of the Florida Senate. This bill would have banned fracking statewide, including the dumping of toxic chemicals it produces which could easily pollute our groundwater. Florida's porous soils and fragile/porous limestone base should make an all out ban on fracking a no brainer. Instead, some of our representatives have chosen a very environmentally unfriendly path. Hopefully this issue will come up again, and be decided in favor of the health and safety of Floridians and the many visitors to our state.

If you're a Floridian concerned about fracking, you may be interested in the Facebook group Floridians against Fracking.
